Process Improvement Examples
At Caremaster
Services, Inc. Jon headed the development of a complete, ground up,
revolutionary new Home Healthcare Management Suite. BioMation
completely replaced an antiquated system saving them thousands of dollars
every month.
At Vistakon, Jon Watson was in charge of a team that developed a software application that revolutionized the way that Vistakon produced a contact lens. Vistakon was able to successfully shorten the design and manufacturing cycle from nine months to two weeks. We also achieved remarkable success by reducing the design and manufacturing iterations from nine to one. The project saved Vistakon close to a million dollars the first time it was put it into production.
At Dana Corporation, Jon redesigned the current design process use to create axles for their customers who were vehicle manufacturers. Jon developed a plan and put a team in place that was able to develop software tools that turned an eight-week design cycle into minutes. This enabled the Dana Corporation to evaluate many more design alternatives and in turn have a better product for their customers. They reduced costs significantly and were able to improve their bottom line.
Again at WellCraft, Jon reviewed the process they followed to design and develop boats. He was able to put a plan together that called for implementation of 3D modeling, training and custom software applications. "We took software that they were already using for hull design and incorporated it into 3D modeling and were able to reduce hull design times significantly." From that 3D model they were able to create all the interior and exterior parts that made up the boat in such a way that they fit together the first time. They reduced time and waste out of their design cycle up to 80%.
